White Sheer Curtains

People have used white sheer curtains for all sorts of decorations and crafts. You can take one and use it for mosquito netting over a baby’s carriage or bassinette.

It can be used on a porch to keep the hot sun off of your flowers or your company as you rock or swing. They can be used in a show window to provide a fluffy cloud background for display of items sold by a store or to cover the stands that hold mannequins that display clothing. White sheer curtain material can be used to drape tables at a wedding breakfast or reception. They can be used as drapes along the sides of the wall of the room and in the alcove that holds the bride and groom’s table. Sheer white curtains can be turned into an enormous bow for use with the decorations or even to top a large and fancily decorated package.

I have read that people wanting to create a unique dress have used white sheer curtains to make the over skirt of a wedding dress, make a veil, or to design a train for a formal gown. A white sheer curtain can be used to create the mock up of a design by basting it into the desired shape on the dress form before cutting the material from which the final dress will be made.

White sheer curtains make perfect picnic table covers to keep away the invading hoards of bees and flies and poking fingers. White sheer curtains made of gauze can be cut to make flouncing skirts and, once lined, palazzo pants that swing as the wearer dances.

If you don’t have cheese cloth, a new, clean white sheer curtain can be used in its place. You can cut the material to make rice packages for weddings or potpourri bags for gifts. You can cut and sew small bags from the cloth to make gift bags for candy.

Look at all the uses and we haven’t even explored the one for which they are made.

Take a sheer white curtain and hang it as a room divider if you are in a one room apartment. This will not block the light from one part of the room to another but will camouflage the hidden area without making the room look smaller. You can also use a sheer white curtain to hide a closet that doesn’t have a door. The use of sheers will make your room look larger and will let in the necessary light while insuring your privacy. When you use a sheer white curtain, it will match any color in your décor. You can use any color or type of material as a tie back or decoration. These sheers are probably more easily found in white in stores so it will be easier to find an additional panel if necessary.

Just see how much easier life would have been for Scarlett O’Hara if she hadn’t had to make a dress out of those heavy old dusty draperies and had been able to use some sheer white curtains instead.
